Katarina and Trey Mathews Wedding

Hey y’all! So Its been about a year since I last blogged. WOW. I am behind hah. For those of you who don’t know we had 19 weddings last year and in the middle of that I gave birth to my son Odin who is almost a year old now. Really really behind. Anyways I am finally catching up on all my blogs and cannot believe I didn’t blog this one last year.

Katarina and Trey were married on April 28th, 2018 at Kingston Plantation in Mathews, VA.

This amazing home on the water was full of spring florals and so much character. The big huge back porches and dark elaborate wood trim throughout was so beautiful. Katarina and Trey’s wedding party was quite lively. They kept us laughing all day.

The speeches moved us to tears, a private moment with Katarinas little brother touched our hearts, and the party never stopped.

So now that I’ve made y’all read all of that and wait over a year here are some of our favs from the day.

Horton Hears I Do – Outer Banks Destination Wedding

Life is full of ups and downs. We take hard tough roads that sometimes lead to beautiful destinations. Amber is someone I’ve known over the years to always turn a bad situation into something positive. She’s so determined to succeed in life and does everything she can for her kiddos. She’s fun and so full of life. Once she met Reid everything changed for her. She smiles more than she ever has. He brings out the best in her and she does the same for him. Reid not only makes Amber feel special he makes their children number one. He stepped up to the plate and made their family whole. He was the missing piece she always needed. He’s a kick butt dad and an even better partner. I know these two are in it for the long haul.

They were married seaside in Nags Head, NC. It was one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve been a part of it. FlowergirlsOBX knocked it out of the park with their bouquets. Such an amazing team of vendors. And that reception…. I’ve never seen so much booty shaking at a wedding before. It was quite the party haha. Congrats Amber and Reid!

An Intimate B&B Wedding- Cliff and Jessica

Virginia weather is so unpredictable. We get snow and wind and ninety degree days all in one week in the middle of March. Its insane. I am so glad I get blessed with couples though that just roll with the punches and unpredictable weather. Jessica and Cliff were married in March on one of those super windy cold days.

Jessica and Cliff met in 4th grade and actually dated way back when. Life took different paths for both of them but Cliff’s family always asked about Jess. Eventually their paths met again and instantly knew it was always each other. They are such amazing parents to their sweet baby boy Rhett and now they are officially husband and wife. I couldn’t be happier for them to build this life together. Congrats Jess and Cliff.

Zach and Natalie-A Backyard Intimate Wedding

As most of you know I have started offering the Intimate Wedding Collection. It warms my heart to be a part of these smaller intimate events. Its super family oriented and I really get to connect not only with my couples, but also their families so much more than I do on a full wedding day because I’m usually running around shooting all the things.

I met with Natalie and Zach only a few days before their wedding. I knew immediately they were my kind of couple. Cowboys fans first and foremost, and they were both so excited to get married, not to have a wedding, but to just be together forever. They are legit like two school kids in love. Zach is crazy about her and you can just tell by the way he talks about her. He could not keep his hands off of Natalie all day at the wedding. I LOVE affectionate couples. They make my job so much easier.

Natalie is someone I truly see being someone I will hold dear to my heart forever. She gets me. She’s laid back and is obsessed with her dog. She prefers no stress and does not like being the center of attention. Hence the small more intimate wedding. Zach totally takes that stress away from her. When she’s in his arms everything else melts away. They seriously connect like no other couple I’ve ever worked with.

It was such an honor to photograph their special day and to get to know their dog. HAHA. Hope y’all are having an amazing time living married life by the ocean. (SO JELLY)

Virginia and Jack

November weddings have a special place in my heart. I was married in November and its always such a beautiful time for gorgeous fall color. What makes it even better is getting to work with people who love as hard and as fierce as I do. Virginia is one of those people. Shes a girl who loves with all her heart for everyone in her life. Her sweetness and that 1000 watt smile makes everyone around her want to smile. Even in difficult times Virginia continues to smile and brings this calm to those in her presence.

Jack is quite the character. He had us laughing all day. His carefree spirit was so welcome. As everyone knows weddings can be stressful. One thing I noticed on their wedding day was whenever there was a hint of stress for Virginia, Jack was quick to relieve it. He is so calm and makes everyone laugh. He is definitely her rock. I couldn’t pick two better people to be together.

Thank you both for allowing us to be a part of your big day. Wishing you all the love and many many years of happiness.

Dee and Jesse- A Williamsburg Wedding

Fall weddings are my favorite. I was a fall bride myself. The changing colors and cooler temperatures just make me so happy. Its simply amazing. The same can be said about Jesse and Dee’s wedding day. We ended up beating the rain and had overcast skies which made for some beautiful soft flattering light and INCREDIBLE portraits. Cloudy days are one of my favorite conditions to work in.

They were surrounded by their incredible families and friends. Jesses Dad was my favorite person all day. His speech brought so many of us to tears. So many people love them both dearly and you can see why. These two together couldn’t stop smiling and giggling. Never let that end you guys. Remember to make each other laugh everyday.

Mr.&Mrs.Mitchem- A Mathews Wedding

Aw man. I am tearing up writing this post. This wedding meant so much to us. Mary and Lee have been friends with us for quite some time. They actually met at our wedding even though they had lived in the same town forever. When we found out they got engaged I was so happy. Then they called me and asked not only if I would photograph their beautiful wedding, but if my sweet angel Hayden could be their flower girl. I was so honored and of course said absolutely yes.

So without further hesitation here are a few highlights from their wedding day. We couldn’t be happier for you two and we cannot wait to meet your sweet baby girl in a few weeks.

Sarah and Ryan- Woman’s Club of Portsmouth Wedding Blush Teal and Gold

I’ve been waiting for this wedding day for many reasons, one because it was my birthday and two because Sarah and Ryan had me so pumped for it after their gorgeous engagement session. These two are so perfect for each other. From the vows, to the decor, to the effortless connection these two had it was a magical wedding all day long.

They each wrote a letter to one another and they both mentioned Sarah being Ryan’s forever girl. It gave me chills y’all.

What made this day even more special was that Ryan not only committed to being Sarah’s husband but also committed to be a Dad to Derek. There was not a dry eye in the house when he turned to Derek and said vows to him during the ceremony.

After the beautiful ceremony Sarah and Derek threw one heck of a party. Lindsay and I may or may not have danced to Copperhead road. P.S. She’s way better at it and kills it at every wedding haha. The dance floor was full all night.  Their families made us feel so welcome and y’all know thats what drives me in this business. I want my brides to feel like family. Cindy and Veronica were both simply amazing to us all day long.

Thank you so much to Sarah and Ryan for allowing us to be part of your wedding day! Congratulations!

Wedding Wednesday Announcement

Happy Wednesday y’all!

I don’t have any special wedding day tips or new wedding images to share just yet, but its still a wedding themed post today.

I know that not every bride and groom can afford a full day wedding package and get the full experience of that. Trust and believe I am a budget girl myself. Because I believe that every couple should still have beautiful wedding day images I am thrilled to offer a new package for girls balling on a budget just like me.

I’ve been shooting a few smaller weddings lately and I’ve really fallen in love with it.

As of today I am now offering The Intimate Wedding Collection. It’s the perfect package for elopements, small weddings, and vow renewals. It include 2-3 hours of wedding day coverage and an online gallery for you to download your images from as well as a print release.

I still have 2017 dates available and I am booking these for 2018 as well. Please email me at saratiffanyphotographyva@gmail.com to book your Intimate Wedding Collection.

A Midsummers Eve Styled Shoot

Wedding days can be anything and everything a bride imagines. From a rustic farm wedding to tying the knot in a flowy sundress on the beach you can make any dream wedding come to life with the help of some incredible vendors.

The natural surroundings  and the way the light beams through the trees in the summer evening inspired us to bring in a little whimsical and natural inspiration to this rustic plantation venue so we went with a Shakespearean MidSummers Eve theme.

The David Tutera MonCheri gown was the perfect final touch for this shoot. The vendors all worked vigilantly and came together to put together this beautiful vision Sarah-Daye Hand of Night and Daye Events came up with. It was so much fun and I am so honored to work with such talented artists.
